CARE
CARING FOR YOUR TOWELS
Towels are delicate, so to keep your towel looking beautiful, the colour bright and absorption superior follow these care and washing instructions:
- Wash your towel separately before use as this fuses and fluffs up the cotton fibres
- We recommend washing in warm water, using minimal detergent.
- Never bleach!
- Avoid using fabric softener as softeners can coat the cotton fibres reducing absorption.
- Avoid tumble drying, as tumble can cause the towel to pill and it saves the environment too!
- Dry out of direct sunlight, to save from fading colour.
- Give your towel a good shake after washing to fluff up the cotton fibres.
- Always wash after use in pool.
- Never Dry Clean.
WASHING YOUR TOWEL
As above, always wash in warm water before use. Best to wash dark colours separately and it is recommended not to wash your towels with other garments.
DRYING YOUR TOWEL
Try to avoid tumble drying as it is possible to over dry the towel which will remove the natural moisture content in the fabric and cause the towel to pill and feel rough. If you do tumble dry, try doing this just at the end of the drying process to fluff up the fibres and remember to clean out the filters thoroughly after each drying cycle. Do not leave your towels wet or damp as this may cause mildew and possible staining. Try to dry out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
PULLED LOOPS
Be careful as jewellery, watches and even your nails can create a ‘pull’ in the towel. Should this inadvertently happen, DO NOT PULL THE THREADS! Just carefully snip the thread with sharp scissors. This will not have a detrimental effect on the life of the towel.
ABSORBENCY
Avoid using fabric conditioners or softeners as it will reduce the absorbency of your towel by building up a fine water-resistant layer on the cotton fibres.
LINTING, FLUFFING OR PILLING
It is normal for new towels to lint or pill. In the unlikely event that your towels have excessive linting, please wash them two or three times to remove the surface lint/fluff. Remember to clean out the filters of your washing machine and tumble dryer.
REMOVING STAINS
Make up or Sun tan lotions should be soaked in warm soapy water and then washed as directed.
FADING COLOURS
Some washing powders contain optical brighteners. Please wash your towels in a washing product that is designed for coloured washes. Uneven fading can occur if washing powders or detergent come into direct contact with the towel.
Some regular household products such as bleach, toilet cleaners or some beauty treatments can bleach or cause colour changes to your towel. If the chemicals come into direct contact with your towel, gently wash in cold water before washing as normal. DO NOT USE BLEACH or ANY WHITENING AGENTS on the towels.
